1) I got my cellphone back!!! I happened to be in the mall, and so I decided to stop at Radio Shack and check. The Shackian looked in the back, and lo and behold, there it was. *grin* Makes me wonder how long it’s really been back in Iowa. They didn’t call to let me know or anything (they had Megan’s cell number, and my parent’s number). It has the newest software version on it, too. I can tell a significant difference… it’s so smooth in comparison to the older version. Ahh… I feel whole again. :) Message me or something! I need to make up for two months of paying for service I didn’t get to use. *g*

2) My dreaded Thursday project has been put off until next Tuesday. It turns out I wasn’t the only one who had better things to do than research and filming during their Spring Break. However, I did make progress on the project today. Anthony and I walked over to the Design building and he helped me frame a few shots, and we bounced ideas off each other. I’m feeling a lot more confident now, which is cool.

3) I need to buy a FireWire card so I can work on my video project at home. I checked at Target, Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, and Software Etc, but they didn’t have any. I know Staples has them, and there’s a Staples in town, but I also know they’re selling the cards for $60. Best Buy sells them for $15, but our Best Buy doesn’t open until (rumor has it) the first of April. Which is the day the project is due. *sigh*

That’s all for now. Megan and I are going to enjoy the evening together with some Chinese food and maybe a movie. :)

I just thought to check my domain record for rootarcana.com, spur of the moment. I was bored at work, and realized that the contact info was probably out of date, so forth, so on. Guess what I discovered?

Rootarcana.com will expire in 2 days (March 25).

Therefore, I have a choice. Either I can get my tush into gear and re-register rootarcana.com, or I can get my tush into a higher gear and purchase a new name. For instance, journalarcana.com is up for grabs. When I bought rootarcana.com, I didn’t know what I was going to use it for… it’s only been in the last few months that the site has really solidified in my mind as a blog.

I’d like some advice on this… anybody got any? Leave your advice in the comments. As I think this one through, I plan to leave updates of my own in the comments of this entry.

The simple breakdown:

Benefits of staying with rootarcana -
Don’t have to remember a new name (familiarity).
Don’t have to change links elsewhere (ease).
No chance of downtime between-names (continuity).

Benefits of changing to something else -
The chance for a more ‘apt’ name (accuracy).
I’m sure there’s more, but I can’t think of them (stupidity).

I’ve never tried a Photo Friday (not to be confused with Photoshop Phriday by SomethingAwful.com, which produces such lovely gems as this), but I figured I have a new (albeit shoddy) digital camera, so I might as well give it a try. Even if it is Saturday. Not my fault. I didn’t find the site until half an hour ago. *g* The theme for this Friday was ‘blue’.

My ACT’s from 10th grade, recently found in my mom’s filing cabinet and placed in a nice silver frame for my Wall O’ Robby-Love, but not yet hanged on said wall because the neighbor on the other side of that wall just had brain surgery. *grin*

I decided not to touch up the photo at all because 1) there’s something artistic even about bad pictures from bad cameras, and 2) I couldn’t find a filter that made it look any better. :)

Hmm… between that site and the Friday Fives (which I’m considering starting (if they weren’t always so dern corny (my humble opinion only (parentheses rule))), I should always have something to post on Fridays.
