So, my sister says to me today, “You’re going to be an uncle.”

My best response? “Wow.” Well, it’s a toss up between that one and, “Huh.” Yeah, so much for the articulate English graduates of Iowa State. At one point, Sandy (that’s my sister) even suggested I make use of an online thesaurus or something so I didn’t embarass myself further. *g* Charlie “Copia is King” Kostelnick would be spinning in his grave right now, were he more dead and less the chair of my department.

Uncky Rob…not a bad ring.

randgrid

congratulations! although you really didn’t have anything to do with it… hehehehe…

Rob

Actually, Sandy’s already informed me that I’ll be known as “Uncle Robbie”. Suppose I might as well start getting used to it. :)

Going to bed now.

Sandy doesn’t have anything to do with it. The sprout will call you whatever it feels is appropriate.

Mark, for example, is Robin’s “unGARK!” I am “Annie Missa.” Timprov is “Dim.” Stella did *not* try to teach him those things.

(”Does he mind that the baby calls him ‘Dim?’” my dad asked. I said, “I think the baby could call him ‘Jerkface’ and he’d still be thrilled.”)

Rob

…which would help explain my mom’s repeated failed attempts at getting my miniature cousins to call her “Pretty Aunt Pam”.

Eric

lol, Jerkface…

Classic.

mom

My favorite nephew Derrick (and sometimes Wyatt)ALWAYS calls me Pretty Aunt Pam. I think I will like the title Pretty Grandma even better!

Mris

Pretty Grandma is good. Robin calls his grandma “Me-ma.” Because he can say the word “grandma,” but he wants the world to be absolutely sure that this is HIS grandma and no one else’s.
