In Which Rob uses “sucked mountain oysters” and “lunch was an overwhelming success” in the same entry.
Tuesday, May 4th, 2004I had a rather good day today, considering I didn’t get nearly as much sleep as I would have liked. I woke up around 7am, having fallen asleep around 2:30am. I started studying again as soon as I’d woken up sufficiently (which takes about 20 minutes or a cup of coffee, depending on how you measure your mornings). I worked from 9am until noonish, when I left to take the worst final of my semester, and probably one of the top two worst finals of my academic career to date: Classical Studies. I had butterflies in my stomach before the test. I ~never~ get nervous before tests. I didn’t even get nervous right before taking my GRE’s.
So, anyway, I guess from 7am until noon wasn’t that great. Oh, and from noon until 2pm sucked mountain oysters, because I was taking that final I mentioned. But after the final, the final was over. Profound, no?
After the final, I went to Subway with a friend-like person named Abbie. We ate on the terrace of the Memorial Union, overlooking the fabled (insert snicker here) Lake Laverne. It was a beautiful afternoon: mid-70’s, nice breeze, early May foliage all about. Plus, the company was good, so lunch was an overwhelming success. I’d recommend it to anyone, and I may have to try it again sometime. Plus, the meal was made all the more sweet by the realization that she and I were both graduating in a few days. :)
After lunch, I headed home while Abbie headed to the M-Shop to raise her toxicity level. After a couple of hours at home, I headed to work, which was kinda a poor way to end the day.
You know, now that I think about it, this day wasn’t all that great. Can a generally neutral-to-negative day be reclassified a positive solely from a picturesque lunch? Meh. Too much thinking.
I still have two finals left: one in Biology and a similar number in Sociology. I spent most the evening at work studying for the Biology ‘un. The Soc stuff will have to wait until Thursday night, more than likely. After that, I’m graduated. :)
